--Hey,
it's been forever since the last update here, sorry about that. I'm not sure that too many people find their way here anymore, or if it's all myspace these days. Well, our new album titled "Implosion" is now recorded, mixed and mastered. We're growing more and more happy with it everyday. I think it's appropriate to say that it is very different from the last one, while still sounding very much like Smalltown. If that makes sense. We've tried some new stuff, with a lot of different instruments and other things. Right now we're working with the layout, and hope to have everything done shortly. Then it is up to Deranged and Combat rock when it will be available for you to get. Check out our myspace for new sounds soon! / Kalle & Smalltown

--Ok folks,
this thursday, november 29th, we go into the studio to start the recording of our second album, the follow-up to our 2004 release "The Music". Again it will be released by Deranged records from Canada, but this time in cooperation with Finland's Combat rock industries, who will take care of the european end of it all.
We will record 12 new tunes, and it is our intention to include them all on the album. The recording will be stretched out over a bunch of weekends, as we have to fit everything in with lots of different people and two different studios. Expect a release sometime spring 2008!
Have a good one! / Kalle & Smalltown

--First update in a looong time... I'm happy to let you know that we have finally finished writing the songs we want to record for our new full-length album. If you doubted it was ever gonna happen it's totally understandable, because I did that myself at times. Anyway, some of the songs are a little different from what you might expect, others are very similar to what you've heard so far from us. What we are doing now is figuring out all details regarding the recording and the release of it all. Our intention is to start recording as soon as possible, and for the album to be out sometime in the spring. Keep checking back for further updates on everything regarding the new record.
Have a good one! / Kalle & Smalltown

--We're back home from Japan, and we want to thank everyone we played with, and anyone who was nice to help us out with food, equipment, a place to stay or anything else. Special thanks to Yoichi and Tomo of course, for arranging it all and driving us around. We now have the new split 7" in our hands, get in touch if you want a copy.
We plan on taking it easy with shows during he summer and write new tunes. Occational one-off dates can pop up though. Next saturday, for example, we're playing with our friends Frontkick in Berlin at their record release party. They have a new album on PLY records, check it out!
07.03.06
--We have a local show coming up before we leave for Japan. Saturday march 31 at Decibel here in Oskarshamn. Almost half of the set will be new unreleased stuff, so come out and say hi!
07.02.18
--You can listen to the new tune "Back on track" over at www.myspace.com/smalltownsweden
07.01.23
--Hey there,
we're going to Japan again! We had such a blast last time, so we're really excited to go again in april.
Shortly before that, our friends over at Snuffy Smile in Japan will release a new split 7" with us and a band called The Crump. Our songs are going to be an original called "Back on track", and also a cover by an old Swingin' Utters tune called "Politician". I just heard the new mixes of these songs, and they sound awesome. I will put a tune up for your streaming pleaseure over on our myspace page as soon as the record is available. Because you do buy vinyl, don't you? I thought so:)
06.12.15
--I just posted two new live clips on YouTube. Check them out here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fi8dlUW6iyg
--We have a new split single coming out early next year, and some exciting tour plans to follow that one. More news on this early 2007.
Happy holidays!
06.11.22
--We just got our copies of the MRR compilation today. It's a good one, with lots of cool bands, including Regulations, Observers, No hope for the kids, Career suicide and more. Available on both CD and LP, go pick one up! If you live in Sweden, drop us a line if you want to order a copy. / Kalle
06.08.16
--In addition to the Maximumrocknroll comp LP which should be out sometime soon, we will appear on two other compilations in the near future.
We just recorded a tune called "Dead end" which will be on a 7" comp released by Shit avalanche in the fall. The thing about this one is it's only 20 seconds long, as are all the other ones, which means there will be bunches of bands on there. As I hear, there will be bands from all kinds of genres ranging from pop to crust, and names I've seen include: This bike is a pipe bomb, Kylesa, This is my fist, Iron lung, Bent outta shape, Fleshies and loads more so it should be a nice one.
The other one is a CD called "ModMod World 1 - Up North Modernists" and includes mod/punk acts from Scandinavia. We will have our tune "The Music" on there, and hopefully that will turn a few new heads our way.
I will let you all know where you'll be able to find these releases when they're out.
In other news, we're in the process of making material for a new album. It's going veeery slowly, so I won't make any promises I can't keep. But keep your ears and eyes open...
Cheers! / Kalle
06.07.18
--New show added. We play Kaktusfestivalen Saturday 22/7 together with bands like Bombshell Rocks, The Pricks, Satanic Surfers, Charta 77 and others. Should be fun!
Cheers / Smalltown
06.05.27
--Sorry for the lack of updates lately. Seems to be more activity over at Myspace, since our guestbook is spammed to death and all. Well, we're taking it easy nowadays while we try to get some new material together. It's taking forever. We have a few shows in the upcoming months though, so we don't forget how to rock out.
Cheers / Kalle
05.12.28
--I just added a few pictures from the US. There should be more coming, so check back.
--Smalltown will have a previously unreleased tune on the new Maximumrocknroll comp LP due in a couple of months. The song is called "Come around" and was recorded at the same time as our full length "The Music".
05.12.28
--Hey! We're back in Sweden again after our US tour. It was a lot of fun of course. Thanks a lot to everyone involved! I just posted a link to a tour diary on the shows page.
We have a few tour t-shirts left. These will never be printed again, so if you want one, it's time to act. We have white ones in XS, S, M, L and XL. Also there are a few green ones in XS and XL. Click here to see the print.
Happy new year!
05.11.08
--Deranged has made a limited edition cover for the LP, especially for the US tour. It's a white DJ jacket with a cut out hole in the middle, hand-screened in two colors. There are only a total of 75 of these made, so if you want one but can't make it to one of the shows, get in touch.
05.10.13
--I've posted the first dates of the US tour. Dates will be added, so check back!
05.10.13
--We're happy to announce that in November Smalltown will finally cross the pond to do some US dates! About time, huh? We'll kick the whole thing off in a grand way, by playing The Fest 4 Nov 18-20 in Gainesville, Florida. This festival might very well be the coolest thing out there. Playing are 100 or so punk bands, among others Dillinger 4, Against Me, Bouncing souls, The Briefs, The Loved ones... you get the picture. After that we fly out to do a bunch of shows on the west coast, starting right after Thanksgiving friday nov 25. The definite list of dates and venues will be posted soon, so check back. We still need help in the Sacramento/Stockton/Chico or so area, so if you know someone we should get in touch with there, please get in touch at info@smalltownsweden.com
Cheers / Smalltown
05.09.30
--We're back from our dates in Greece and Macedonia. Due to a bunch of stuff no one could really affect, two shows ended up being moved, and one got cancelled. This means we only did three shows in the end, two in Greece, and one in Macedonia. This doesn't mean it wasn't super-fun though! We had a great time which included riot-cops, nightly swimming in hot springs, rude train personnel, 250 punks in a squatted university room, ancient Greek monuments, nice but somewhat dusty street dogs plus much more. We want to thank everyone who helped us out in any way. We really appreciate it, and hope to be able to return the hospitality some time! Photos will be added sometime pretty soon, all right?
05.08.09
--New show dates added. We have one local date coming up, probably the only one this year, on september 1st. Also added are the dates of our mini-tour of Greece and Macedonia september 23-26.
05.07.23
--Head over to the "music" section to download a video with some live footage of smalltown. Our friend Gringo filmed some at our shows in Finland january 2004, and here it is now, better late than never.
05.07.23
--We have some copies of the vinyl version of "The Music" for sale to you Swedes. Including postage in Sweden the total is 130 SEK. If you live outside Sweden you can get it cheaper from some of the mailorders, as the postage rates here are through the roof. If you insist however, the ppd price for the rest of the world comes to an insane $22.
05.06.07
--So I just created a MySpace account for Smalltown, www.myspace.com/smalltownsweden
05.05.15
--Ok, just some words to tell you what's going on in the Smalltown camp. We're going to kick back in Oskarshamn over the summer and don't have much rocking out planned for a little while. We will use the time to work on a bunch of new songs and record some new demo-material late summer or so. We do however have some really rad touring plans for the fall, so keep checking back.
--Smalltown is appearing with an interview in the may issue of american music magazine Skratch.
--We now accept payments through PayPal when you order stuff from us, about time huh? The address to use is buy@smalltownsweden.com
05.04.18

05.03.18
--Our album "The Music" is now out on vinyl, finally. We won't have any copies for sale through the site though, so turn to your local punk music record store and bug them to pick it up, or go to www.ebullition.com, www.interpunk.com or some place like that.
05.02.01
--Finally we have some t-shirts for sale through the website. They are black with white ink, the image is kind of like this website, the "smalltown silhouette" stencil-style, with smalltown printed below in typewriter lettering. Sizes available are S, M, L and XL. The price with postage will be 120 SEK in Sweden, and 14 € / 18 $ world. Cheers!
05.02.28
--Well, ok. When doing an interview, it is very common to get asked if something weird or messed up has happened on tour. Until now we haven't really had any stories to tell. I feel we do now. Our february tour with the great guys in Frontkick looked weird from the beginning. 11 shows with six off-days? We went anyway, we wanted to play Europe, dammit. Then stuff just started happening. Highlights include; me getting a concussion and getting my skull X-rayed, Stephan from Frontkick needing dental surgery twice, Lobo getting robbed at knife-threat in Berlin, our van breaking down in a semi-blizzard, me not being able to eat or keep any liquid for five days, leaving me completely dehydrated and weak, therefore having to lay in a bed at a german hospital for two days with tubes in my arms to get me going again and Frontkick spinning a 360 into the rail at the freeway in the snow. Plus much more. I guess all bands get a tour like this at some point. Anyway, the shows we actually did do were fun, especially Berlin with a packed Clash Club with 250 people. Thanks go out to Frontkick for being a great band and all around nice guys. I'm sure we'll play again sometime under better circumstances. Sorry to the people who wanted to see the last two shows, but it just wasn't possible to play. Me and others in both bands were just too sick. Now I gotta go see a doctor. Later / kalle
05.01.17

04.12.04
--I have posted the diary I wrote on the road in Japan. It's certainly not a piece that will earn me the Pulitzer, but if you're interested in checking it out, go to the Shows page and hit the link that says "Tour diary" next to the "Japan tour" headline.
04.11.28
--We are back from our Japan tour. Man, did we have a great time! We would like to thank everyone we met during these weeks, you all had part in making it such a great experience. Especially we would like to thank Yoichi Eimori from Snuffy smile for organizing it all so perfectly, our driver Tomo "The Machine", and J.D of the Urchin for lending Lobo his bass for the whole tour. Also of course all great bands we played with, mainly the ones we had the pleasure to rock with more than once: Practice, The Urchin, One leaf and Minority Blues band. Awesome! Sometime soon I will post a short tour-diary here on the site. Just give me some time to figure out what I've actually written in that bumpy van. Thanks again!
04.10.22
--Hey! Our new full-length CD "The Music" is now out! It has twelve previously unreleased Smalltown originals, recorded this summer. Get it from us for $15 world, or 120 SEK in Sweden. --Hey there. Believe it or not, there have been some new pictures added to the footage-section. Some new ones from the last tour we did in Finland in may, and one or two others. I've rearranged the pictures a little, they are now divided into different sections. We promise to try to post new images more frequently in the future.
--We have recorded 13 songs for the upcoming full-length. We have laid down all the instruments and lead-vocals, but there are still some backing vocals left to record. If everything goes as planned, the record will be out in october. As it looks, it will be named "The music".

--New releases in the works! The other day we sent away the artwork and the music to a new CD. It will be a compilation of all our tracks released on vinyl, including the Newtown Neurotics cover. Also, it will have one previously unreleased tune, taken from the same session as our first EP. This baby will be released by Deranged records in cooperation with Snuffy smile records from Japan. Something to look forward to for all you people without a turntable, huh?
Snuffy smile records will also release a split 7" EP this spring with Smalltown and a Japanese band called Practice. Smalltown will do one original, and one as of yet secret cover. Stay tuned...

Hello everyone. It's been a while, but here is some info about what we're up to;
-- Smalltown goes to Finland.
Yep, Smalltown is going to play a few clubgigs as well as an indoor punk-festival in Finland in January 2004. We've been invited by the nice guys in Union District to come over and play some shows, and on the bill all dates will also be finnish street-punkers Wasted. We're really looking forward to going, and hope you can make it to the shows if you are in the area. Check out the Shows page for all the dates.
-- New Smalltown releases finally done! Two new 7" singles are made, and are soon ready to be picked up by YOU.
The first is a two-track single on Canadian label Deranged records (Leatherface, DS-13, Tear it up + others). It contains a brand new smalltown song called "Years, months" which is a teaser for our upcoming fullength due sometime next year.
The B-side is a cover of British band Newtown Neurotics, who was around in the early eighties. If you don't know them, you should definitely check them out, some stuff they recorded is nothing short of brilliant. Smalltown does their classic "When the oil runs out". When Neutown Neurotics frontman/songwriter Steve Drewett heard the Smalltown version he said it was the best cover recorded of a 'Neurotics song he'd heard ever.
A box with these singles is currently somewhere on the atlantic heading towards scandinavia. It's already out overseas.
The other single is the split with Down and away. Smalltown does the exclusive song "Changes". These records have been ready for a long time, but the covers have been delayed for like six months! Should be here really soon though.
As soon as I have the records in my hands, images and info will be posted. Reviews will be posted as they start dropping in.
Cheers!!! / Kalle and Smalltown
03.07.28
--You can now finally choose to download the video for Empty eyes in Hi-, Mid- and Lo-res quality respectively. They are all in .mpg format.
--The split 7" with Down and away is at the pressing plant. We've received the test-pressing, and it sounds really cool! Smalltown does the song "Changes" which is exclusive to this release. We'll put up images of he cover here on the site as soon as the record is ready and for sale.
03.05.04
--We will start mailing out smalltown newsletters every now and then. If you want to receive these, please e-mail me at kalledull@home.se and let me know, and I will add you to the list.
--I've added two reviews of the Fall into line EP. Go to the Records page and read 'em.
03.04.28
--Hello everyone! I've added images of the new t-shirts and hoods on the merch page. Go there and check it out. Available sizes vary, so be sure to e-mail and ask if you're interested in ordering, ok? Images of new stickers and pins coming soon!
--On the Beats page you can now download the video we made for the as of yet unreleased song "Empty eyes". It's heavy as a freight-train, so be sure to have a fast connection before trying to download this beast.
03.02.27
--In addition to the other releases due this year, we can inform you that we are finally releasing our fullength debut this fall. We are now rehearsing and writing new great songs, and are planning to record the whole thing sometime in the summer. Check back for more info on this.
--We have made a music video for the as of yet unreleased song "Empty eyes". It was put together by our friends Björn and Gringo and turned out really cool. We will post a file suitable for download here on the page sometime soon hopefully.

On another note, I've now learned how to manage this site on my own, so expect more frequent updates from now on. Again, thanx a bunch to To.b.be for all the help!
01.09.11
In October it's time for Smalltown to tour Sweden and Denmark together with great american modpunkband The Odd numbers! That's right, the same Odd Numbers who we all remember contributed that great Jam-influenced punkpop in the early New deal skatemovies, and after that got a reputation worldwide. Further down in this update you'll find a link to a short mini-interview with the Odd Numbers.
We want you all to come rock out at those shows, it will be a blast! See all the booked dates in the "shows" section. Keep checking back for more information and updates.

Also, if you tuned in Swedish National Radio P3 Thursday Januari 11, you could hear our song "Stuck" being played. Kinda cool, eh? Well, that's it for now.
00.12.01
